ASICS® wrestling apparel is backed by a rich history. In 1949, Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka began his athletic footwear company by manufacturing basketball shoes out of his living room in Kobe, Japan. In 1977, he chose the name ASICS® for his company based on a famous Latin phrase, "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano", which translates to "A Sound Mind in a Sound Body." Taking the acronym of this phrase, ASICS® was founded on the belief that the best way to create a healthy and happy lifestyle is to promote total health and fitness.

Introduced to the United States in 1977, the company has expanded to several sports, including wrestling. ASICS® wrestling apparel is a comprehensive line, including ankle bands, compression shorts, long-sleeved and sleeveless compression shirts, beanies, knee pads, hooded sweatshirts, wrestling t-shirts, wrestling shoes, tights, socks, speed rope, referee kit, backpacks, gear bags, duffle bags and warm up jackets and pants. Most of the ASICS® wrestling apparel is geared for adult men and women; however, several pieces of apparel is available in youth or xsmall adult sizes.
