ASICS Wrestling Shoes

ASICS® is an athletic equipment company that started in 1949 when Kihachiro Onitsuka began manufacturing sports shoes at his home in Japan. ASICS® produces shoes designed for wrestling, football, running, tennis, martial arts, cricket, golf, track & field, cross-training, volleyball, cheerleading, Lacrosse and many other sports. In 1977, Onitsuka Tiger merged with GTO and JELENK to form ASICS® Corporation. The name of the company "ASICS®" is an acronym of the Latin phrase "anima sana in corpore sano" which translates to "a sound mind in a sound body.”

Mat Monster offers a variety of adult and youth ASICS® wrestling shoes on some of the most popular ASICS® wrestling shoes include the following:

  • ASICS® Dan Gable Ultimate. One of ASICS® most flexible wrestling shoe, the Dan Gable Ultimate provides structural support for your foot. This top quality ASICS® wrestling shoe comes in sizes: 6 though 15 in black/silver, blue/black or yellow/silver/black.
  • ASICS® Matflex Junior Wrestling Shoe. This ultra lightweight wrestling shoe has an upper made of open, breathable mesh and synthetic leather. Its European construction outsole and large medial drive zone area make it a popular choice for younger wrestlers. Available in black/white and white/black, kids sizes run from 10-13 and 1-6. Half sizes are available. This same shoe is also available in adult sizes.
  • ASICS® Fuerte Junior Wrestling Shoe. Specially designed for the growing wrestler, the unisole provides grip, while the lightweight pre-laced nylon upper offers lateral support and comfort. Available in black/white and white/black, the sizes range from K10-K13 and 1-6.
  • When it comes to purchasing ASICS® wrestling shoes, keep in mind that many wrestlers have strong feelings about split sole or uni-sole for the bottom of their shoes. ASICS® wrestling shoes are typically uni-sole. If you find a pair of ASICS® wrestling shoes that are comfortable and offer the protection you need, we recommend continuing to purchase uni-sole ASICS® wrestling shoes in the future. If you want to try other brands, be sure to try them on as each brand fits your foot differently.
